Trip to Alaska and West Coast

October 1, 2013 – 46 F and cloudy/sunny/rainy.  We got up this morning to snow on the Olympic Mountains around us. The Olympic National Park is closed due to government shutdown. We were not planning to visit it much anyway. We went on a drive west down Hwy 101 & 112. We visited Port Angeles, Neah Bay. We saw wonderful coastline views with sea lions, sea birds and ships, Makah Indian totem poles and Crescent Lake. We drove to the furthest NW corner of the US at Cape Flattery. It rained off and on all day. We have made it a family goal to visit all four corners of the continental US. We got the NW and will be going down to the SW so we will need only the SE and NE. We can get the SE and NE next year. Tomorrow we will drive east on 101 and visit Port Townsend.
