Trip to Alaska and West Coast

July 17, 2013 – Today is moving day. We will be going to Great Falls, MT for a few days. We need to get the oil changed in the truck and plan our Canadian part of trip. Also, we need to check our colds. Health care in Canada is a little different with Medicare and Tricare.  It is 62 F and cloudy outside today. We arrived at Dick’s RV Park about 3:00 pm. We had a short but intense thunderstorm while we were setting up trailer. All is well now and dinner is served. We had chicken vegetable soup and leftover pizza from last night. Tomorrow we will have the oil in the truck changed and plan to tour the Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center here in Great Falls. Great falls is on the Missouri River. We have passed several what they call buffalo jumps. The Indians used a cliff to drive buffalo off so they could kill them for food and the hides. They called the places buffalo jumps. It is still daylight at 9:15 pm and 72 F. Montana’s is nicknamed The Big Sky State is really true for Montana. You could see for miles. Today we saw our first electric windmill farm. They are pretty working but just look out of place in the countryside.
