Trip to Alaska and West Coast
October 2, 2013 – 49 F and cloudy. Fun day! We drove to Port
Townsend, WA and had lunch at Doc’s Marina Grill. It is a great place to eat. There are RV sites across the street from restaurant. Port Townsend is the best preserved late 19c seaport in the US . We drove
around the old town and visited Fort
Worden State
Park . The old fort looks like it could start up
today if you just added soldiers. The fort was used by US army from
1897 – 1953. In 1982 the movie Officer and a Gentlemen was film there. The fort
has a conference center, fishing, camping, and RV sites.

Trip to Alaska and West Coast
October 1, 2013 – 46 F and cloudy/sunny/rainy. We got up this morning to snow on the Olympic Mountains around us. The Olympic National Park is
closed due to government shutdown. We were not planning to visit it much
anyway. We went on a drive west down Hwy 101 & 112. We visited Port Angeles , Neah
Bay . We saw wonderful
coastline views with sea lions, sea birds and ships, Makah Indian totem poles
and Crescent Lake . We drove to the furthest NW corner
of the US at Cape Flattery . It rained off and on all day. We have made
it a family goal to visit all four corners of the continental US. We got the NW
and will be going down to the SW so we will need only the SE and NE. We can get the SE and NE next year. Tomorrow we will drive east on 101 and visit Port Townsend.

Trip to Alaska and West Coast
September 29, 2013 – 54 F and cloudy with rain and wind - 30-40
mph. We visited Wal-Mart and purchased a little food, tire slime for a trailer tire slow leak and a Toshiba portable hard drive. We have a lot of pictures and hope the hard drive will help keep them safe. We met the Duffield’s for dinner at Max Dale’s Steak and Chop House. The dinner was great and conversation plentiful. It was great to get to see them. Hopefully, we will get to see them again soon. We must say "Thanks for the great time".
