Niceville, FL to Gulf Breeze, FL
10/29/09- What a great trip. We had a wonderful time with all the C-Dory group and our time in Apalachicola. We departed Niceville, Fl (Bluewater bay marina) at 10:00 am and arrive at home at 1:30 pm. Great ride . The bays were a little rougher than yesterday but we still were able to cruise at around 18 knots. No rain or thunderstorms are predicted. The wind was not a major factor. Thanks to Mac , John and the whole gang for a wonderful weekend. Looking forward to the next C-Dory gathering.

10/28/09 -- Today was great boating weather. Smoooth the whole way, We left Apalachicola about 9:00 am (cst) and arrive Niceville Bluewater Bay at 3:00 pm average about 15 mph on trip. We took a few picture today on the river leaving Apalachicola. Got 100hrs inspection on boat and electric fixed. Works great. Mac and the gang at Wefings Marine are great. If anyone needs a boat you got to call them. We had another great meal at Bluewater Bay Marina. Today was a long day. A 7 hours boat ride can get you down. Weather looks like may have 15-20 knots winds and thurderstroms. We will have to look at it in the morning and decide if going to Gulf Breeze is a good deal. picture 1- Boss Oyster's

10/26/09- Got up early, so we could pack to be ready to the leave boat. Moved boat down to city docks so Mac could put Adventure on trailer to get oil changed and fix some electric problems. Tuesday looks like bad weather so we are planning to stay at Gibson Inn build in 1902 in Apalachicola, FL until Wednesday and then start back home. Had a great hot shower. We then ate at Boss Oyster's on the Apalachicola River. Great place to eat. Jo Ann had fried shrimp and I had bay scallops. Walked around Apalachicola. We saw the 1902 Armory, Fishing Fleet and dined at Boss Oysters on the river. We had a wonderful sleep on a king size bed.

Great Day of Rest
10/25/09- Today was a day of rest. Everyone left about 10:00 am this morning. We are the only boat at John's house waiting for some regular boat service tomorrow. Looking at weather we may have to stay here Tuesday and leave Wednesday. It looks like thunderstorms and rain will have passed by then. We sat and read our books , sleep to 10 am this morning and worked on boat things -like charge batteries, clean head, and pack so we can stay in hotel tomorrow. We saw some new waterfront condo come up river today. The food, friends, and fun were great. We have found a new way to sleep in our bed- crosswise- it works great. You have to be there to understand. John has a beautiful house and boat. he likes to fish big time. Tomorrow we plan to stay in the Gibson Inn and maybe Tuesday depends on what happens to boat and weather.

Wonderful Day in Apalachicola, FL
10/24/09-- Had a great day. Weather turned colder. It is now about 60F going down to 48F. Had excellent food-- Mexican food. Played Bingo JoAnn and I won three times so we got three gifts. Everyone who wanted to play had to bring a $10 gift and put $5.00 in the pot. Last game was a coverall for $125. We did not win coverall. Alabama 12 Tennessee 10. It was not as much Alabama winning as Tennessee losing by missing field goals. Tennessee had a field goal blocked with 4 sec. on the clock- that would have won the game. Great game- we both enjoyed it . We were able to watch it on the Internet -CBSsports.com. Many of the boats went for a ride on the river but JoAnn and I stayed on the boat an watched the game. Tomorrow most people will leave tomorrow and JoAnn and I will just hang out and get boat serviced on Monday. We start back home Tuesday if boat is ready. Have heater on in boat tonight.

Pananma City to Apalachicola, FL
10/23/09-The trip over was great after yesterday. Left early because of thunderstorms and possible wind. Departed Panama City Marina at 9:15 am and arrive at 1:30 pm. Able to ride at boat's normal speed of between 13-16 mph. Saw some great waterfront fixer upper homes for sale. Had a wonderful dinner of shrimp, crab legs , potatoes, corn, bread, drink and of course key lime pie. About 60 people and 11 boat at party. We have electricity at dock so the A/C is on. It is cool outside but very humid. A/C helps to keep boat dry. Breakfast in the morning between 8-9. We are on eastern time now!

What a trip. Had dinner on the boat - wonderful Turkey sandwiches and broccoli salad, drinks, and chips and of course Oreo cookies. First mate Jo Ann wishes you were all here. You would be excited.
